PPG announces the launch of a suite of new educational materials developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) with support from a PPG community engagement grant. The resources – including three handbooks, online courses and videos – will help teachers worldwide integrate sustainability and climate change education into schools and communities.

“Today’s students are tomorrow’s environmental leaders and innovators,” says Malesia Dunn, executive director, PPG Foundation and corporate social responsibility. “Together with FEE, PPG is empowering educators around the world to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and passion to tackle climate change, protect our planet and pursue STEM opportunities that lead to a brighter future.”

The new resources, unveiled during FEE’s 2025 National Operators Meeting (NOM), expand the reach of Eco-Schools, the world’s largest Education for Sustainable Development program. Available in more than 45 languages, the materials ensure broad accessibility and are already scaling sustainability education to thousands of educators, with the potential to reach more than 30,000 schools, 75,000 teachers and 1 million students worldwide.

Among the new tools are:

• Eco-Schools Early Years Handbook, bringing playful, age-appropriate sustainability learning to nurseries and kindergartens.

• Eco-Schools Teacher’s Handbook, a practical guide with best practices and case studies for embedding sustainability in educational programming.

• Climate Resilience and School Safety Handbook, helping schools prepare for climate-related risks and build safer, more resilient communities, with input from PPG specialists.

• FEE Academy Online Courses and Videos – including a free “What is Eco-Schools?” course and a video showcasing Eco-Schools in action across seven countries.

FEE is co-coordinator of the UNESCO Greening Education Partnership’s Pillar One on Greening Schools, and is committed to achieving UNESCO’s ambitious goal of accrediting 50% of all schools for sustainable practices by 2030 and doubling the number of countries that include climate education in their curricula. The partnership with FEE is part of PPG’s global commitment to invest $5 million in environmental sustainability education by 2030.
